There’s many things that make the Rio Cinema the iconic picture palace it is today. Sure, we still have our glorious art deco facade and a unique radical history – not to mention some fabulous leopard print carpeting... But truthfully, the Rio would be nothing without its loyal community of members, who with each renewal, help support and secure the cinema’s future.
So, if you’re a film fanatic or a just a regular at The Rio – you have to check out our benefit-packed memberships. It’ll save you money and keep your favourite independent picture house thriving.
As a community cinema, The Rio has a fantastic community programme. This includes our education screenings – with thousands of local school pupils attending screenings and talks every year. We also provide Classic Matinees each month for senior citizens and care home residents. Parent & Baby screenings and Hard-Of-Hearing screenings happen as regularly as possible, normally once a week. We also schedule Family Matinees during the school holidays, and each year we host and support some of London’s leading and most innovative film festivals.
Every membership we sell helps us to continue this invaluable work. Thank you so much for your continued support.

This is an opportunity to making your voice heard in how the cinema is run, and to be part of our future plans.
