Hire of Screen 1 always includes use of the foyer and ground floor bar, where we stock local, ethical and family-run food and drinks, and we can provide space for a merch table and step-and-repeat. The Ludski is available as a relaxing Green Room or exclusive VIP bar for your guests to mingle. Tantalise your audiences taste buds with our drink and food packages. We can provide discounts on bulk orders of prints from our FotoAutomat (analog vintage photo booth in the foyer).

same old get-togethers and boring bashes? Look no further! Picture this: the entire Screen Two cinema is yours, filled with your friends and family. You're the director, choosing your favourite flick, whilst the Rio caters exclusively to your group.
Not only will you get to enjoy the film in Screen Two in style, but you'll also have time to socialise before the show in the welcoming Ludski bar. And with our comfortable seating and state-of-the-art projection & sound, you'll be in the middle of the action. Food and drink packages are available, including a kids snack deal (consisting of a small popcorn and carton of juice) for £3.
We offer Birthday Party matinee screenings for children and adults on Saturdays and Sundays, between the timeslots of 10am-12pm, or 10.30am-12.30pm. We also offer late night Birthday Screenings from 11.30pm all week long, for adults only. All birthday hires are a standard of 2 hours, but more time can be added if required, just let us know.

The Rio Cinema is one of London’s most unique filming locations and we are regularly used in feature films, television shows, fashion shoots, commercials and music videos. Our historic venue boasts a bold 1930s exterior and picture palace interior. The Screen One auditorium is our most popular location and can pass for a number of time periods.
Beyond our auditorium, we can grant access to shoot in other locations around the building, not least including our projection room, which houses our 35mm projector; our foyer complete with bar and popcorn machine and outside our Grade II-listed building. We will always try to to accommodate your shooting schedules whenever possible. Get in touch to shoot your shot with us...

- Our 2K digital projectors require DCP files. We offer a conversion service if needed.
DCP File Conversion Service
- Short Film DCP (up to 30 mins) - £30
- Feature Film DCP (up to 120mins) - £70
- Directors' Cut DCP (up to 180 mins) - £100
Discounts can be discussed for multiple DCP conversions (for example, for film festivals).
Charity and Community Discounts
- 20% total hire discount for registered charities.
- 10% total hire discount for fundraisers for charities, and events that fulfil our local community eligibility criteria.

We strive to promote the best of East London's dependent food & drink, including Hackney Berewery, Borough Wines, Sacred Spirits, Climpson & Sons Coffee, Winnie's cakes and Hackney Gelato.

The Ludski bar is our second intimate basement bar, located by screen 2. Please speak to the team if you wish to use it as a green room or to entertain your party away from the main foyer. (Max standing capacity 30).
