Synopsis

Our classic variety show of comedy shorts and live sketches moves to an earlier time (so it’s Sketch Afternoon, really), and looks to the hilarity in the mundane - from buying loo roll, to yoga snobbery, to jumping through hoops on the phone to the bank.

Get ready to laugh with (and, er, at) your favourite comedians, with on screen appearances from Jamie Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats) and Jack Rooke (Happy Man). We also have an eclectic bag of talent behind the camera, with works from previous LSFF Lo-Budget winner Kate Jessop (Tales From Pussy Willow) and avant-garde filmmaker John Smith (The Girl Chewing Gum).

Plus live on-stage comedy from Evelyn Mok, dubbed “The Swedish Amy Schumer” by Comedy Central Nordics and the best thing to come out of Sweden since… IKEA! Plus comedy duo Megan from HR, made up of Ambika Mod and Andrew Shires who’ve been writing and performing comedy after starting off in the award-winning Durham Revue. The event will be hosted by Gem Carmella (Short Sighted Cinema).
