The Best Summer plunges audiences into the 1995 Summersault tour, as Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth, Foo Fighters, Pavement, Rancid, The Amps and Bikini Kill travel across Australia and Southeast Asia.

Shot entirely on Tamra Davis’s handheld camera, the film captures explosive performances alongside candid backstage encounters, tour-bus chaos and fleeting friendships. Rediscovered nearly 30 years later, Davis’s remarkable footage offers an intimate portrait of artists at a pivotal moment in their careers. Raw, spontaneous and immersive, The Best Summer is a vivid time capsule of alternative music and independent filmmaking in the mid-’90s.
