Beneath Brighton’s waves, a punk revolution erupted. The
Piranhas, The Depressions and Peter & The Test Tube Babies turned humour,
mischief and music into a fiercely communal movement, centred around The Vault
- an underground burial crypt transformed into a legendary gig venue. Told
through 15 years of interviews, performances and animation, Punk Brighton
captures a scene that confronted fascism, rocked against racism and fought to
save Brighton & Hove Albion. Featuring Fatboy Slim, the film celebrates the
city’s enduring DIY spirit and two figures who defined it: Attrix Records
founder Rick Blair and The Piranhas’ irrepressible Bob Grover.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Kevin Wright.
