Rarely screened and largely forgotten about this cinematic gem features grand costumed dramas, gritty urban thrillers, outlandish fantasy scenarios and heartbreaking love stories set to some of the greatest opera arias. Come and feast on its insanity and revel in the action. It totally confused critics at the time and was dismissed as an arthouse curiosity or “MTV does opera” but shows some of the greatest avant garde directors letting their imaginations run wild, and its super camp!
