Pink Palace: BOOM!

Pink Palace in association with Lobotomy Room present one of the all time WTF train wreak of a movie: BOOM! the insane drunken cinematic atrocity that is John Waters favourite movie… ever!

Elizabeth Taylor plays the wretched and dying millionairess Sissy Goforth, drunkenly dictating her memoirs in her spectacular cliff top house, visited only by her friend The Witch of Capri (Noel Coward) who delivers poisonous gossip over dinners. When a handsome poet (Richard Burton) washes up on her islands beach, and sets about to seduces, the twist being that he is known as the Angel of Death.

Jaw dropping in every respect, this film has to be seen with a crowd, marvel at the Bulgari jewels, the Lagerfeld outfits, the screaming matches, the over acting, the campness, the glamour, as you turn to the person next to you to check you are really seeing this madness.

“It’s the other side of camp. It’s beautiful, atrocious, and it’s perfect. It’s a perfect movie, really, and I never tire of it… Because it is a great movie. I feel like if you don’t agree with that I hate you. If you don’t like Boom! I could never be your friend” John Waters?

With an introduction by Graham Russell (Bitterness Personified) check the blog!
