At Category H we know there is nothing more festive than travelling, so
why not settle into the holiday spirit with our final late night horror
double bill of the year TRANSPORTATION: HIGHWAY HYPNOSIS X TURBULENCE 3:
HEAVY METAL, with the short film MAN ON A TRAIN. Featuring the big
three forms of transportation, this December 12th, 23:30, at Rio Cinema,
take a trip you will never forget…
We begin on the road to Las Vegas with a very rare screening of the
recently restored Highway Hypnosis. A serial killer stalks the highway,
seeking his next victim in this troubling trance. An underground queer
film in the truest sense of the word, we invite you to ‘take a spin with
the freeway killer’ and be put under the spell of director Ken Camp’s
unique brand of cinematic hypnosis.
After a short break, get your rail card ready as we begin the second
half of our screening with MAN ON A TRAIN. A four minute short dripping
in tension and terror, Man On A Train taps into the terror of solo train
travel and the strangers we encounter along the way.
Then, fasten your seatbelts as we take to the skies for TURBULENCE 3:
HEAVY METAL. Released in May of 2001, the third Turbulence film does not
require you to have seen the first two. We will join mall goth rocker
Slade Craven and his band as they prepare for their final show ever,
which they have decided to perform on an airplane while streaming to
millions of fans worldwide. However, there is danger afoot for Slade as a
satanic cult attempt to hijack the flight for their own nefarious
means. Will anyone be able to stop them?
Back in our screen two home, this Category H will include plenty of
surprises and delicious themed drinks. Grab your tickets for the
cinematic red eye event of the year, sick bags not provided.
PLEASE NOTE: Highway Hypnosis is not suitable for viewers with
photosensitivity due to flashing lights. Please contact Category H
directly on Instagram, @categoryhfilms, for further information about
the screening.
