Historically, the act of gleaning is the gathering of farm produce left after formal harvest. Join Agnès Varda as she explores the rural-urban reclamation of disposed food and objects in her 2000 documentary, voted by Sight and Sound critics as one of the best documentaries of all time.
Our Varda Film Club is back with its fourth screening, this time screening the beloved ‘The Gleaners & I’, which was officially selected at Cannes, and went on to win several major awards.
This special screening will also commemorate Varda’s work through an introduction by Bells Kennedy-Compston, film programmer and filmmaker.
