As an audience member at the Rio, you’re part of our community.

We’re an inclusive venue, and our front of house team will offer you a friendly and considerate welcome. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your visit more comfortable.

We ask you to show our wonderful team, and other Rio visitors, the same respect and kindness.

PLEASE DO:

• Support us in creating a safe and inclusive cinema space, by reporting any nuisance or suspicious behaviour.
• Be considerate of your fellow visitors and acknowledge that some customers may experience cinema differently from you.
• Reach out if you have specific access requirements. You can find detailed info on our Access page. We always welcome feedback to help us improve access to the Rio: community@riocinema.org.uk

PLEASE DON’T:

• Bring in refreshments from outside the cinema. External alcohol is strictly prohibited.
• Make excessive noise that may disturb others. (We are however aware our customers may experience cinema in different ways and that some disabilities are invisible).
• Fundraise, demonstrate, display or distribute printed material without prior agreement.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

We are a family-friendly venue: Children are welcome! We don't allow unaccompanied children under 12. You are welcome to nurse your baby anywhere in the building. If you need us to help you find a quiet area, please just ask.

Bag searches: For the safety of our staff and visitors, bag searches may be carried out. Our security team are always courteous – they are checking for alcohol from off the premises (which is against our license) and objects that may be considered a risk to the public.

Zero tolerance for: graffiti, stickering, sustained interruptions of our events, sexual comments, racist language, other discriminatory language or deliberate misgendering. You will be banned. Our door staff have the authority to escort customers from the premises if necessary.
